DNS not found. Is it because it's too new?

I recently added the domain guildertest-folatt.nohost.me, but it can’t be found by https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/guildertest-folatt.nohost.me or
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#AAAA/guildertest-folatt.nohost.me.

Is it because it’s too new?

Dude, I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve and why it’s not working but, you should be careful that :

  • you can only have one nohost.me per yunohost instance. YunoHost code is not designed to handle multiple .nohost.me / .noho.st domains. This is kind of by design, to prevent people abusing the free domain thing.

  • if you added a nohost.me / noho.st domain on your instance, then deleted it, then added another one (or the same one), at the moment you need to do some tricks to properly reset and resubscribe to the nohost.me domain.

  • as far as I understand, you’re the kind of guy who likes tweaking things around, and you seem to be willing to have “subdomains” of your main domain (as as I understand by the domains you mentions). It would probably save you a lot of trouble if you just had your own domain name bought on a registrar…

I’m trying to achieve the following:

  • Phase 1: Have a Yunohost server running Duniter.
  • Run my cryptocoin.
    • Once it’s running I will start with phase 2.
  • Phase 2: Convince others to help me run the same cryptocoin.
  • It should be free and easy for anyone else to do this too. I don’t want people to have to pay for this experiment.
    • My vision is to have them run a nohost domain as well.
  • Phase 3: End the experiment and start running the real coin.
    • This time with a real verification system.
      • ???
  • Phase 4: Profit

I have been testing moulinette’s subscribe method.
Using the old print() method on every line of the ‘domain add’ and ‘dyndns_subscribe’ method to see if there was anything I could find were I could tell it not to send the ipv4 address. Nothing I tried worked.

I see. I did not know that.
What tricks are those?
Can I do those tricks?
Why is it not already part of the add/remove domain code?

They’re not subdomains. They are cryptocoin+nick.nohost.me domains.

Aleks told you tu buy your domain and create subdomains to reach your goal more easily (or buy multiple domain, which is more expensive).

No he didn’t.
You are inserting words into his mouth that he did not say.
You make it sound like Aleks told me “We have nohost.me domains, but not for you. Buy your own domain. I’m not going to help you!”.

And I find it rather strange for you to suggest this.
Is this what Yunohost wants to be known for? Disservice?

I will try using another domain regardless.
It’s clear Yunohost cannot offer the service (yet) I am looking for.

For testing you can have free domain from Freenom - A Name for Everyone

Those free domains are African domain names.
It would look weird upon attempting an “Basic Income Currency for the EU” project.

I have found https://nl.eu.org via https://nic.eu.org.
And so I’m trying to acquire https://guilder-test.nl.eu.org, combining it with NS servers from http://freedns.afraid.org/.

So far no success.

There is netlib.re too
